Description
The oil cap goes on top of the valve cover and is there to protect the internals of the engine from debris falling into the oil fill hole. There is a gasket inside the oil cap that starts to leak over time due to dry rotting. You can replace the gasket or the entire oil cap.
Mods
There are several aftermarket oil caps available for the 4G63. The one pictured above is a Greddy aftermarket oil cap. This is purely cosmetic and does not effect performance.
